Hospitals Require Mandatory Flu Vaccines for Employees

Via: Walb
Getting a flu shot is probably your choice, but some professionals don't have a choice when it comes to getting vaccinated. Many hospitals require their employees to get a flu shot since they are around sick patients with weak immune systems. Miller county Hospital strongly encourages their employees to get the vaccine but does not make it mandatory, however there is an incentive to getting your flu shot. In the employee review at the end of the year there is an opportunity for your supervisor to acknowledge your willingness to participate because if we are not here to take care of patients that are sick, then obviously that is a concern," says Tim Fowler P. A., Miller Co. Hospital Emergency Room. Miller County Hospital has not seen many patients for flu symptoms. Fowler says that could be because the community's vaccination rate is above average.
