Children Going to the Hospital Subject to Mandatory measles vaccination

Mandate Choice
Via: Thenews
The Children’s Hospital of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) has launched a new initiative under which every child coming routinely to the hospital will be targeted with mandatory vaccination against measles effective today (Wednesday). The initiative will be replicated by all other public and private hospitals of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. A decision to this effect was taken during the course of a high-powered meeting held at the Children’s Hospital on Tuesday to formalise a strategic plan for the control of measles.
The meeting was attended by PIMS Executive Director Dr. Riaz Warraich, chief of the Expanded Programme on Immunization Dr. Zahid Larik, Capital Development Authority’s Directorate of Health Services (DHS) Director Dr. Hasan Urooj, heads of the paediatric departments of all public and private hospitals of the two cities, and representatives of the Islamabad Capital Territory. According to paediatric department head at Children’s Hospital Dr. Tabish Hazir, the participants have developed consensus on six basic recommendations. The short-term recommendations include the formulation of a task force, with focal persons from all public and private hospitals of Rawalpindi and Islamabad as its members; the appointment of liaison persons in DHS and ICT; and the establishment of a hotline for instant communication of measles cases. It will be the duty of the focal persons to report every case to DHS and ICT, which in turn will dispatch teams of vaccinators for mopping up in areas reporting measles cases.
“Despite vaccine shortage, EPI has agreed to provide extra doses of measles vaccine for smooth conduct of the mopping up exercise,” Dr. Tabish said. On another front, the DHS is facing a major crisis of human resource, with only 11 vaccinators available for the entire population of Islamabad. While the meeting has recommended hiring of additional vaccinators, the DHS and ICT have requested PIMS to spare some of its paramedics for measles vaccination as an interim arrangement. “Even though this is not a solution to overcome the shortage of vaccinators, particularly when the services of paramedics working at PIMS are direly needed within the hospital, the request will be discussed with the ED,” Dr. Tabish said.
Another short-term recommendation of the strategy pertains to the constitution of a core group that will develop messages for the media so that instead of raising panic, parents can be informed about the mode of transmission, symptoms and treatment of measles as part of a coordinated awareness campaign.

Flu Vaccine Exemptions Denied Hospital Fires Nurse

Via: Heraldonline
Eight employees, including at least three veteran nurses, have been fired by Goshen Hospital, in Goshen, Indiana, for refusing the flu vaccine. A religious exemption is available, but was denied because these employees did not meet the criteria for religious protection established by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. "What gives the EEOC the authority to define what constitutes an acceptable religious belief?" asks Jane M. Orient, M.D., executive director of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS). AAPS opposes vaccine mandates, believing that patients and healthcare workers have the right to refuse medical treatment.
Hospitals may agree with the right to refuse treatment, but assert the right to determine conditions for employment. They cite concerns about protecting patients from transmission of influenza by unvaccinated staff.
"The scientific and religious concerns are in a sense backward," Dr. Orient stated. "Advocates of the mandate are full of evangelical zeal and are quick to portray skeptics as wicked and selfish. It's like a secular religion, based on faith in vaccine efficacy and safety."
In fact, the scientific case for flu vaccine mandates is very weak, Dr. Orient points out in an article in the winter issue of the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons. A handful of studies show slight benefit in long-term care facilities. Hospitals have not been studied. Safety data are limited, and there are no long-term studies of the effects of annual vaccination. Serious, lifelong disability occasionally occurs. There is no evidence showing that vaccinated workers are less likely to transmit virus.

Documents Show Merck Paid Popular Website $3.5 Million Dollars for Promoting Vaccines

Via: Activist Post Forum
Have you ever wondered how some websites come to promote vaccines? Well, here’s the answer: Parmaceutical companies pay enormous amounts of money for websites to promote vaccines. The influence is subtle for the unsuspecting parent – especially on popular websites such as WebMD. According to documents located on Merck’s website, at least $3,592,850 dollars was paid to Medscape LLC, a subsidiary of WebMD Health, from 2008 through 2012. If you factor in other cancer programs promoted on WebMD by Merck, the total figure comes to $3,982,850. The amount is likely higher as one of the documents on the website is unavailable. [1]
Last year I wrote about doctors getting paid over $18,810,495.52 by Merck to promote their vaccines. You might notice a common theme: pharmaceutical companies pay huge sums of money to buy influence. WebMD is no exception. [2]
Until recently, the actual amounts have been anyone’s guess – and I think you will agree that 3.5 million dollars is a significant amount.

WHAT DID MERCK’S MONEY BUY?

If we take a look at the WebMD website, you will notice a web page called Lifetime of Vaccines. It is sponsored by Merck. [3]  Waiting for you is a video message by Julie Gerberding, former head of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). She promotes the reasons why we should get vaccinated. Before you listen to her message, you should know she lobbied to get the dangerous Gardasil vaccine (also a Merck product) onto the vaccine schedule. She is also the current president of the Vaccine Division at Merck Pharmaceuticals.  Other sections of the website downplay any adverse reactions to vaccines or what is in the vaccines. For example, Merck softens the list of toxic ingredients in vaccines, listing only aluminum, mercury/thimerosal, antibiotics and formaldehyde, attributing to each a single sentence description. [4]
Not only do they downplay the toxicity of the ingredients, they also forget to mention the many other vaccine ingredients. What do I mean?
For starters, a very small sample of vaccine ingredients includes:
-Aluminum Hydroxide (Heavy Metal)
-Egg Protein
-Formaldehyde
-Bovine Calf Serum
-Thimerosal (Heavy Metal)
-Calf Skin
-Aborted Fetal Tissue (Human Diploid Tissue)
-Monkey Kidney Tissue
-Mouse Brain

Parents Paid Hush Money After 40 Children Paralyzed by Vaccine

Via: TheHealthyHomeEconomist
A vaccination tragedy is currently unfolding in Gouro, a small town in the  African republic of Chad.  Late last month, 500 children received the meningitis vaccine MenAfriVac and so far, at least 40 of them are confirmed to be paralyzed. What’s more, the media trail for this disturbing incident in the former French colony has been all but sanitized with no news outlets save for the French newspaper La Voix reporting the story and the government of Chad desperately trying to silence the frantic parents of the paralyzed children by paying them hush money. Adverse Reactions Began Within 24 Hours of  Receiving Vaccine. One resident of Gouro who has 2 cousins who remain hospitalized from the vaccine, reported to La Voix that many of the paralyzed children began to have adverse reactions within 24 hours of the shot. Headaches and vomiting were the first symptoms followed by convulsions and in at least 40 cases, paralysis. The vaccination effort took place on December 20, 2012 and yet it was a full 6 days later on December 26, 2012 before Chad government authorities stepped in to transport 50 of the critically ill children to a hospital in N’Djamena, the capital of  Chad. Government authorities have also reportedly attempted to silence the aggrieved, frustrated, and angry parents by paying them hush money.

Fifth Dose of Pertussis Vaccine in Children Increases Odds of Acquiring Pertussis by 42%

Via: NEJM
BACKGROUND
In the United States, children receive five doses of diphtheria, tetanus, and acellular pertussis (DTaP) vaccine before 7 years of age. The duration of protection after five doses of DTaP is unknown.
METHODS
We assessed the risk of pertussis in children in California relative to the time since the fifth dose of DTaP from 2006 to 2011. This period included a large outbreak in 2010. We conducted a case–control study involving members of Kaiser Permanente Northern California who were vaccinated with DTaP at 47 to 84 months of age. We compared children with pertussis confirmed by a positive polymerase-chain-reaction (PCR) assay with two sets of controls: those who were PCR-negative for pertussis and closely matched controls from the general population of health-plan members. We used logistic regression to examine the risk of pertussis in relation to the duration of time since the fifth DTaP dose. Children who received whole-cell pertussis vaccine during infancy or who received any pertussis-containing vaccine after their fifth dose of DTaP were excluded.
RESULTS
We compared 277 children, 4 to 12 years of age, who were PCR-positive for pertussis with 3318 PCR-negative controls and 6086 matched controls. PCR-positive children were more likely to have received the fifth DTaP dose earlier than PCR-negative controls. indicating that after the fifth dose of DTaP, the odds of acquiring pertussis increased by an average of 42% per year.
CONCLUSIONS
Protection against pertussis waned during the 5 years after the fifth dose of DTaP. (Funded by Kaiser Permanente).

75% of Minnesota's Whooping Cough Outbreak Cases Involved Fully Vaccinated

The Minnesota Department of Health says the pertussis outbreak appears to be slowing. Pertussis, also known as whooping cough, causes a persistent, severe cough that sometimes lasts for months. In the past two weeks another 190 cases were confirmed, nearly the same number of cases that were reported for just one week in mid-September. The drop in cases is a good sign, said Claudia Miller, a section manager at the Minnesota Department of Health. "On a day-to-day basis we're receiving somewhat fewer reports than we were over the past couple of months," she said. But she said there is still a lot of disease circulating in the community. "We're still at what we would consider epidemic levels, so we've got a long way to go," Miller said. "Hopefully we'll see a more dramatic decrease in the not-too-distant future."
In total, the state has confirmed more than 3,700 cases of the bacterial infection. That's the highest number since the 1940s, prior to the development of a vaccine. Three-quarters of the cases have occurred in vaccinated people. Public health officials say it appears that the pertussis vaccine doesn't offer protection for as long as originally thought.

Weaponized Flu Virus

United Kingdom is set to be the first country to offer the seasonal flu vaccination to all children enrolled in the public educational system. The nasal flu vaccine being offered to over 9 million children is sold under the brand name Fluenz in Europe and FluMist in the United States, is made by AstraZeneca’s MedImmune unit and has been available for the past decade in the U.S. This is the largest contract the company has received outside of the U.S. taking its first steps into the global dissemination of inhalable poisons. The FluMist vaccine contains a live virus and is squirted up the nose where the virus can live and breed for up to 28 days while it damages your immune system. Could the sneeze be the new WMD Weaponized Mucus Device a way to infect and spread diseases through the populations? Having been cooked up in a label run by the new world order’s pharmaceutical psychopaths you can only assume there is a hidden agenda and as always it includes reducing the global population. Vermont Vaccine Immunization Rates Increase Along with Outbreaks

More Vaccines More Outbreaks
Via: VTCommons
Vermont vaccination rates for 2011-2012 school year have been published on the VT Health Department website and they show rates are increasing - not decreasing - as lawmakers, the media and the general public were told during the unprecedented and regressive bid to remove Vermont's philosophical vaccine exemption last spring. The availability of this report calls into question the assertions made by Vermont Health Officials to the media and to the legislature last session in a baseless attempt to remove our rights to philosophical vaccine exemption: Namely, that drastically falling vaccination rates and rising exemption rates were the reason that Vermont’s philosophical vaccine exemption had to go.
To get to the Vermont data, click on this link and scroll down for Data Sources for Vaccine Coverage and then click on 2011-2012 Report Data. From the "highlights of the report" tab: "The percentage of students in public and private kindergarten with a philosophical exemption for one or more vaccines was 5.2%, down from 5.4% in the prior year. The philosophical exemption rate decreased from 5.1% to 4.7% in public schools." The percentage of students entering a public kindergarten who were vaccinated against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B and varicella (chicken pox) increased for each individual vaccine to levels higher than reported in the previous two years."

On December 20, 2012, a vaccination tragedy hit the small village of Gouro, located in northern Chad, Africa. According to the newspaper La Voix, out of five hundred children who received the new meningitis vaccine MenAfriVac, at least 40 of them between the ages of 7 and 18 have become paralyzed. Those children also suffered hallucinations and convulsions. Since this report, the true extent of this tragedy is coming to light, as parents of these vaccinated children have reported yet more injuries. The authorities in the area are shaken, as citizens set fire to a sanitary administration vehicle in a demonstration of their frustration and anger at the government’s negligence. “We wish that our children would get their health back,” shared the parent of a sick child. MenAfriVac is a new vaccine manufactured by Serum Institute of India Limited.
According to The Meningitis Vaccine Project (MVP), it is the first vaccine to gain approval to travel outside the cold chain, meaning that the vaccine can be transported without refrigeration or ice packs for up to four days: “The meningitis A vaccine known as MenAfriVac®, created to meet the needs of Africa’s meningitis belt, can now be kept in a controlled temperature chain (CTC) at temperatures of up to 40°C for up to four days, a decision that could help increase campaign efficiency and coverage and save funds normally spent maintaining the challenging cold chain during the “last mile” of vaccine delivery.” [2]
The data on the MenAfriVac vaccine is further backed by the World Health Organization’s website [3] and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation website. [4] So, why does this information differ vastly from the information given on the manufacturer’s website? Serum Institute of India Ltd. stated under the section marked STORAGE: “MenAfriVac should be stored and transported between 2-8ÂșC. Protect from light. The diluent should be stored at 25°C. It is recommended to protect the reconstituted vaccine from direct sunlight. Do not exceed the expiry date stated on the external packaging.” [5]

Fired for Refusing Flu Shot? Indiana Employees Make Claim, File Suit

Via: Christianpost
An Indiana hospital has fired eight workers for refusing to get the flu shot, which the hospital says is protocol. The ordeal has sparked debate about whether the flu shot is necessary and whether the hospital was out of bounds in requiring the shot. According to Fox News, there is a religious exemption clause that would allow workers to refuse the shot. All eight workers went before a committee to claim that the shot was against their religious beliefs but were turned down and told they should either receive the vaccine or leave. "This is my body. I have a right to refuse the flu vaccine," nurse Ethel Hoover told ABC News. "For 21 years I have religiously not taken the flu vaccine, and now you're telling me that I believe in it."
Hoover was let go from her position in the critical care unit on Dec. 21, just six days after the deadline to receive the shot passed. She had filed not only the religious exemption appeal, but also two medical exemptions and later, two appeals. The hospital refused all of them and after nearly 22 years, Hoover was sent packing. "If it were religious beliefs as defined by the Equal Employment Opportunities Commission, they would not have been terminated," hospital spokeswoman Melanie McDonald told WSBT News. "Sometimes there can be a little bit of gray area and people who have very personally held beliefs will present those as religious opportunities for exemption." "It was a good place to work. We've worked together all these years.  We're like a family," Hoover said.Indiana University Health Goshen Hospital defended its actions, stating that it implemented the mandate after recommendations from several prominent organizations including the American Medical Association, the American Nurses Association, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. "IU Health's top priority is the health and wellbeing of our patients. Participation in the annual Influenza Patient Safety Program is a condition of employment with IU Health for the health and safety of the patients that we serve, and is therefore required," IU spokeswoman Whitney Ertel told ABC.
The hospital's mandate is meant to prevent workers from accidentally infecting patients with lower or weakened immune systems. Yet many of the nurses questioned whether the flu vaccine actually did anyone any good. "I just feel like it's a toxin that I don't want in my body," hospice nurse Sue Schrock told WSBT. "There are side effects with that. There are no guarantees that it's even going to protect you." Some of the terminated workers have filed a lawsuit alleging that their civil rights were infringed upon.

Employee Disputes SCH Vaccine Mask Wearing Policy

Modern Day Scarlet Letter
Via: Salemnews
A Salem Community Hospital employee said she doesn't think a new policy forcing her to wear a mask is fair, but hospital officials said that's the requirement for employees who decline to be vaccinated against the flu for health or other reasons. "For the first time, Salem Community Hospital is requiring all of its employees to be vaccinated, and this vaccine requirement is supported by the SCH medical staff. Those who decline to be vaccinated for health or other reasons will have to wear a mask throughout the flu season. This is another sign of the importance that health care providers place on flu shots," SCH Director of Public Releations Michele Hoffmeister said in a written statement.
Marie Fortney, a Salem resident who works in the hospital cafeteria, called the Salem News regarding the new requirement and said "we aren't even sick the bunch of us who have to wear a mask...I don't know what the mask is going to prevent here. I see no reason for it...We're not sick, so how are we going to spread germs?" Fortney has worked there for five years and said it's never been an issue before. According to Hoffmeister, federal health officials began a "universal recommendation" for flu shots last year. "According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), everyone older than six months should be vaccinated, with rare exceptions. This is especially important for people who are at risk for serious health complications, including infants, the elderly, pregnant women and those with chronic health issues such as asthma, diabetes or lung disease the kind of people most likely to be found in hospitals, nursing homes and clinics," she wrote.
"That's why the CDC stresses the importance of flu shots for another group: people who live with or care for these at-risk groups, including health care workers. Vaccinations have been recommended for all health care providers by the CDC, the American Hospital Association, and The Joint Commission, which monitors the quality and safety of care provided at participating hospitals. Currently, more than half of the hospitals nationwide are requiring their workers to get flu shots," she said. SCH launched a staff education program in early October "to explain the importance of influenza vaccinations for health care workers. The program included written information and phone numbers to call for answers to specific questions. In addition, hospital employees were invited to attend panel discussions hosted by SCH physicians to learn more about influenza and how to prevent it," she explained.
According to Lyn Pethtel, Director of Quality Improvement and Infection Control at SCH, "The virus that causes the flu is spread from person to person by droplets that are coughed or sneezed into the air, or by handling items contaminated by an infected person. People can spread the flu for one to two days before they begin to feel sick. This is why health care workers, who care for people at high risk for flu complications, must take every precaution." In addition to the staff precautions, members of the community are asked to refrain from visiting hospitalized patients, if they are not feeling well, Hoffmeister said. Masks are available at the hospital's entrances for individuals who feel they must visit.
